Spaten Münchner Hell is available in a 6L beer keg for PerfectDraft beer dispensers. Originating from the city of Munich in Germany, this Munich Helles Lager is a low-fermentation beer with an alcohol content of 5.2%. Brewed since 1894, Spaten was the very first Helles beer ever produced, it has become the benchmark of all Helles beers.
This traditional Bavarian beer takes its name from the German word for “spade” and is derived from the Spaeth family, who owned it in the 17th century. You can even find it on the brewery’s symbol: a malt shovel, along with two letters on either side, G and S, the initials in honour of the first brewers, Gabriel Sedlmayr senior and junior.
Spaten Franziskaner Brau Brewery is one of the six official brewers for Oktoberfest, alongside Paulaner, Hofbrau, and Löwenbräu (which you can also find at PerfectDraft). It’s a very old brewery with a well-established reputation, brewed under the Reinheitsgebot, the German purity law.
Spaten Münchner Hell pours a hazy yellow colour with a delicate white foam head. It releases aromas of malt, bread, spices, herbal hops, and fruits, which instantly greet your palate. The tasting experience concludes with a slight bitterness on the finish, courtesy of the hops.
